Virginia’s students deserve a world-class education. The Roanoke Valley has some of the Commonwealth’s best schools, but Virginia’s public schools haven’t been fully funded since the Recession, and our teachers make $7000 less than the national average.

Djuna comes from a family of teachers, and as a young parent, she supports raising wages for our hard-working teachers, fully funding our public schools so that students in every zip code have the resources they need to be successful, and reforming our Standards of Learning testing. Students who start behind in the classroom tend to stay behind. As a parent of preschool-aged children, Djuna strongly support measures to increase funding for Virginia’s preschool initiative.
